Our staff members have been specializing in the International Music Market, and serving the industry for over two decades. Mr. Patrick Mendola started out in the music business in 1992 as the owner and production manager of Executive Studio Tours. Patrick discovered a niche market in setting up events and tours in India as well as other undeveloped Asian Countries. By 1994 Patrick and his staff members were then setting up and promoting their own stadium shows abroad. In Jan. of 1995 Patrick and his staff attended their first Midem France show, followed by Pop Komm Germany as well as the late Midem Asia and Midem Latin America that were held in the 1990's. Since then Mendola and his staff has licensed, published and distributed artists in 27 countries worldwide, throughout Europe, Asia, South America and South Africa. Over the years Mendola and his staff has represented the music of artists such as, Jose Feliciano, Keith Richards, Ron Woods, Eddie Money, Scotty Moore, Wishbone, Brad Pitt, The Orchestra and various up and coming artists. Patrick’s years of experience and his hands on approach as kept him in the forefront of the international music forum, leading to long lasting relationship with Record Label professional.
A key focus of
JRM is artist development. Mendola and his staff have set up promotional tours for artists throughout Asia and Europe. These promotional tours consists of Distribution and or License deals, Radio and TV campaigns, Press / Media, Promotions, Shows and club dates. A key to JRM’s success is the fact that our staff offers not just a package of media exposure and a CD release, but culture related advice and consultation from the moment we sign an agreement. To this end, we work with the artist to develop an image and song selection that is tailored to suit each country or region.
Artist development is headed by Patrick’s son Johnny who started out as a Bass player touring Asia and then became involved with Stadium show production. Johnny moved to Hong Kong in 1997 as he was hired as the Managing Director of an events company. His job functions included, booking talent, promotions, show production and artist management for various events throughout Asia including “The Hand Over Concert” when Hong Kong was handed back to China. Over the years Johnny has spent his career building rapport with Record Label executive through out Asia and Europe and has licensed and published product to various Record Labels including Universal Music and EMI. Johnny’s key to success is what he calls the three R’s of doing business, Rapport, Respect and Relationships and with over 1.4 million miles flown on Delta airlines; Johnny states,
“My passport is my resume”. Johnny has spent many years and miles establishing relationships, which according to Johnny is something that money can’t buy.
In regards to the Record Business, Johnny was Managing Director of Stampede Records and was responsible for the success of the Band Wishbone. Johnny’s background in marketing and promotions had put Wishbone on the radio charts in the United States (receiving more airplay then Pearl Jam) and from there Johnny licensed Wishbone in 13 countries worldwide and the band enjoyed a number one hit in Holland with their Rock ballad “Open Heart”. Johnny then went on to set up promo tours and stadium shows for the band in Europe and Asia.
As a music professional, Johnny has been a panelist at various trade shows in the United States, including Columbia College. Johnny has been interviewed by various publications as well as had his articles published in industry magazines including Music Connection. Johnny is also known for authoring the book entitled “
Getting That Record Deal”, which gives information on what he calls the “Back Door Approach” and covers the areas of international licensing, touring, radio campaigns, and alternative distribution. His book provides insight on how he has secured deals for bands in foreign lands.
